The package from Sun I’ve been waiting for now has come in to my hand. I got it two days ago in a very good condition. Sun sent it directly from Utah US and it took 2 weeks to reach its final destination, Indonesia. I was a little surprised though since I expected to get the package in no less than 4 weeks….. Well done Post Office/Package Carrier whoever you are!!
Inside the package are:
- SCJP Certificate signed by Jonathan Schwartz, Sun CEO, and by Karie Willyerd, Sun’s Vice President and Chief Learning Officer.
- A congratulation letter signed by Gary Fluitt, Sun Certification Manager
- A kind of ID card titled “Sun Certified Professional” signed by, again, Karie Willyerd (see the picture at bottom page)
- An Application Form for requesting Sun Professional Logo artwork.
You know ..about Sun Logo..I really don’t understand why Sun can’t provide online application instead of manual application which took quite a while to process. And that’s not the case to all countries! For some countries, online application is available, they are:
Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China (PRC), Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan. Luxembourg, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom, USA, Venezuela.
See…even for Malaysian and Philippines, people can do the logo application online….so, why in the world the online application isn’t available for Indonesian…? and for other countries as well..?
Anyway, I’ve sent the application form through the Post Office and they said it would take a week for the application to get in to Sun’s PO Box, and Sun said at that form that it may take 4 weeks for them to process this application……wheewwwf…..another 4 weeks?...no…I mean…another 5 weeks?
I can’t wait to receive the logo…I mean….How will my resume look with Sun logo in it? And in my business card too? Hmmmm…..the time will tell…as soon as I get the logo.

Nevertheless, the condition of the package is perfect. It wasn’t a box, but a thick, firm envelope, strong enough to protect the documents inside it. However, I heard a lot that many SCJPs, especially in India, received the package in a terrible condition. Some of them, had the certificate brutally folded, while another had it ripped out up to a half a page.
hehe...looks great....doesn't it?
